ORU Audio presents Petrichor, neon rainmaker. Petrichor is a tri-engine granular delay plugin for creating stuttery, glitchy, otherworldly sound design.
Petrichor’s three modules run in parallel, each with unique processing. “Crush” is sample rate and bit rate reduction, “Vibe” is tape emulation, and “Shift” is granular pitch shifting.
Features
1) SOLO
Solos a specific module. Mutes the dry signal and any modules that are not soloed.
2) DOWNSAMPLE
Reduces the sample rate of the “Crush” module.
3) BIT REDUCE
Reduces the bit rate of the “Crush” module.
4) ANTI-ALIAS
Sweeps the cutoff frequency of a low pass filter down to the current downsampled Nyquist frequency, reducing aliasing artifacts.
5) SPEED
Controls the speed at which a given module’s delay signal is chopped.
6) SMOOTH
Smooths out the oscillator used to chop the delay signal of a given module.
7) PAN
Pans the delay signal of a given module.
8) MAIN GAIN CONTROL
Controls the gain level of a given module. Clicking the small square in the upper left activates or deactivates the module.
9) WOW
Controls the amount of wow applied to the “Vibe” module.
10) FLUTTER
Controls the amount of flutter applied to the “Vibe” module.
11) SATURATION
Controls the amount of tape saturation applied to the “Vibe” module.
12) GRAIN SIZE
Controls the grain size for the pitch shifting algorithm applied to the “Shift” module.
13) OCTAVE SHIFT
Sets the octave shift for the pitch shifting algorithm applied to the “Shift” module.
14) HIGH PASS FILTER
Sets the cutoff of a 2nd order high pass filter applied to the wet signal.
15) LOW PASS FILTER
Sets the cutoff of a 2nd order low pass filter applied to the wet signal.
16) FEEDBACK
Sets the global feedback for the delay lines of each module.
17) DIFFUSION
Diffuses the wet signal. Useful for creating reverb-like textures.
18) DRY
Sets the level of the dry signal.
19) WET
Sets the level of the wet signal.
20) INPUT GAIN
Adjusts the gain of the input signal.
21) OUTPUT GAIN
Adjusts the gain of the output signal.
22) RANDOMIZE
Randomizes the global parameters as well as every active module, with some parameters restricted to reasonable ranges. PAN, DRY, WET, IN and OUT are not randomized.
